95 years

Cubs win. Cubs win a playoff series! Yep.

Hasn't happened in my life time.

Hasn't happened in my parents' lifetimes.

And my Dad's father, who was born in 1901, was the only person in my family from that generation who was alive at the time.

Wow. Radio, Television and Al Gore's internet were invented since then. We've been in two World Wars. Added a few states to the union (I know Oklahoma, Alaska and Hawaii....was there a fourth. When did Arizona join the union?).

Wow.

That Kenny Lofton call? That was bullshit.

My sister just called. She got field level seats for face value. She sat about 20 rows up from the Braves dugout. She rooted for the Cubs.

Today's a good day.

Also: I should also take time to note that the Red Sox tied it up with the Athletics....Dad and I found this out listening to Titans Radio down in Chattanooga, when Pat Ryan noted that the New England crowd was cheering for the Red Sox victory.

And also, the rough beast slouches ever closer to Bethlehem. The Yankees beat the Twins to move to the ALCS.

Per se, I don't have anything against the A's. I rather like the A's. But they're fighting in the face of 85 years worth of poetic justice. I don't know how well they can stand up.

But I hates me some Yankees.
