5 years
Celebrated 5 years of marriage yesterday. Shyam's my best friend, and we were married in the backyard of my folks' house. My friend Marc performed the ceremony. It was one of the best days of my life.
We celebrated yesterday with a trip out to the movies and a pizza from Gabriel's in Cleveland. We got married on Halloween, as it's one of our favorite holidays. I joke that we did it because the date's easy to remember.
Didn't quite anticipate the traffic level near the Premiere theater. A normal 20 minute drive took about 50, so we were too late for the 5 pm showing of Wicker. Still don't know exactly what was going on, but since there were police directing traffic and no visible accidents I could only assume it had to do with Halloween.
We called an audible and hit Gabriel's first, and caught the 7pm showing at the AMC instead.
Good time to go see a movie? Apparently 7 pm on Halloween night. Walked around Bradley Square Mall for a minute since we were early, and didn't see another soul in the theater until another viewer wandered in for Wicker.
The flick itself? Thumb up. Delightfully weird, and laugh out loud funny on two or three occasions. Spent the whole movie wondering just how tall Elizabeth Debicki is (6'2" or 6'2 1/2" depending on how the Google AI feels at any particularly moment). Also spent most of the movie trying to figure out what I knew Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and it was only a season of Taskmaster.
Anyway. Happy Anniversary to Shyam. There aren't words for how much I love her.....
