Your Cartoon Duck Rest Stop

In the interest of you all who are screwing around at work and looking to see what your old pal Big Stupid Tommy's up to, he's giving you a quick glance at things you don't think about enough.

Cartoon Ducks.

Cartoon Network will be running a Duck vs. Rabbit marathon. Here's the complete schedule.

Duckman shows up on Comedy Central really late on Sunday nights. The best line? When Dweezil Zappa's Ajax surprises everyone with his rumination: "Egad! What manner of Devilry is this?" Here's a little bit of info on Duckman.

I've watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? at least a dozen times in my life. It's just a great movie. And since the movie's been out, I've not heard anything about the fact that some people think Donald Duck, in his scene with Daffy playing dueling pianos, shouts a racial epithet at his counterpart. Read the Snopes.com page on the minor furor surrounding the scene here.

But here's the thing. There's also a RealAudio link at the bottom of the page, and I listened to the offending piece of dialog. And since this has all been pointed out to me, I don't think I'll ever be able to watch the movie again without hearing it.

Keeping in mind that Donald could not have used the epithet, because Disney wouldn't have allowed the movie into as many video and DVD releases that it's been through if anybody there thought the offending phrase was there.

They won't even release most of Donald's early cartoons because he's too violent.

Which is a shame.

Donald is my favorite. Because he's crazy.
