Sunday
Well, the matchups are set for next week's playoffs, with the Packers and Colts winning today. Looks like the Titans will be heading up to New England. The Patriots are the team to beat in the AFC....I've been saying this since week 9 or 10. Of the three teams remaining in the AFC playoffs who could face the Patriots, I'd like to think the Titans would be, at least, the most inspired walking in, and have a better chance to beat the Patriots up there.
And I'd like the Chiefs to beat the Colts. Just because.
Fixed the closet door this afternoon. It's one of those folding doors on a track, but one of its immobile brackets got broken, somehow. Like somebody decided to slam the folding door, or something. Most likely, I was half asleep, wandered in to get a drink of water and bumped into the door, which gets left open more than half the time.
But it works fine, now. Ingenuity, my friends.
Emily has a small discussion of Confederacy of Dunces up on her site, answering a scathing review (which she links to). Confederacy is a favorite of mine, as well. I can accept criticisms of it where somebody doesn't like Toole's style....a professor once complained that Confederacy takes too long to get where it wants to be....but to dump on it because you don't like Ignatius is misguided at best. Confederacy is a bit like the Anna Nicole Smith show....the joke's on the main character, they just haven't realized it yet.
And lastly, via Fark, comes this story of a small boy (apparently very small) who managed to crawl up into one of those claw-prize machines, and then couldn't get out.
You know, there's part of me that thinks it's pretty neat that a kid could manage to get up into the machine (via an 8"x10" opening), and that the Army should enlist this kid early for Tunnel Rat training.....but there's a nastier part of me that says natural selection amongst our population isn't being allowed to work like it's supposed to.
